Duncan in Wenen3-10-2007 Over Vienna, in Vienna & under Vienna
Two days, three riders and one city – Red Bull brings Wakeboarding and Wakeskating into town. The Mission: Ride some awesome spots at untypical urban places and if you need to, then do some illegal things. Day and night, Vienna should get waked on the 16th and 17th of September.
Duncan Zuur (Wakeboard, NL), Dennis Knasiak (Wakeskate, GER) and youngster Dominik Hernler (Wakeboard, AUT) appeared in Vienna with some borrowed skateboard obstacles like a ramp, box and slider and went through the city with a mobile winch.
Starting up on top of Vienna in the swimming pool at the Krapfenwaldbad”, riding through the fountain at “Türkenschanzpark” and doing a spontaneous Wakeboard pass at Vienna’s “Museumsquartier” in front of hundreds of coffee drinking people on Sunday afternoon – the boys were on fire. Later that day a roof pool on the 26th floor gave a perfect view over Vienna at night. But the day’s highlight happened when Duncan, Dominik and Dennis shredded the box in front of the world famous “Karlskirche” at midnight - without getting caught by the police.

Next day - same Mission: The small river through Vienna’s underworld was the perfect playground for another winch action. Getting the riders and the obstacles down along the six meter high walls was an extra challenge. But some insane rides out of the dark and great pictures were worth the action. Last but not least, the boys still did some gap jumps underneath a train bridge next to the Danube. “Lots of fun and even more thrill” was their comment at the end of these two urban winch days. Well done, Vienna got waked!
