Protest European Cable Wakeboard Championships will rock the Netherlands
From 17 till 19 August Almere hosts the PROTEST European Cable Wakeboard Championchips. It is the first time that such a big wakeboard event will be present in The Netherlands. On the Weerwater at Cableway Lido Almere the best European Wakeboarders will battle with each other.

Special for the event there will be new obstacles set up at the cableway. More than 100 riders from 13 countries will fight for the titles in 8 different categories.
Mike Ketellapper (Almere) and Maxine Sapulette (Enschede) are amongst the dutch titel candidates.
Friday 17th August will start the official training where the riders can do their last preparations and get used to the cableway. In the evening the official openings ceremony will take place at the cableway. Saturday morning the first competitions will start their runs including the quarter finals and some semi finals. Sunday is the day where the remaining semi finals and all the finals will be run resulting in the prizegiving ceremony at the end of the day.
Wakeboarding is a sport where next to the hardcore action on the water also lifestyle is a big factor. You will also find this back in the event. A lot of side events will complete the competition. The DJ’s and speakers will take care of the right atmosphere on the waterside. There will also be trial bike demo’s and various stands of the eventsponsors. You can check out the newest stuff, including the newest items from the Protest Boardwear fashion line.
The European Cable Wakeboard Championchips are supported by Protest Boardwear, the city of Almere, Jägermeister, Red Bull, Kink FM and Lido Almere. The event is supported by the Dutch federation that can colour up their 50 year anniversary with this event.
There is no entryfee for visiting the event. During the last Championships more than 10.000 spectators will rock the cableway. This year the organizer also aspect a big crowd during the competition. So let us see who of the riders will be the next hero on board this year.
