The first stop of the European Cable Wakeboard Tour
Cable Krk and Wakeboard club Krk on Saturday hosted Croatia Open - the first stop of the European Cable Wakeboard Tour, competition in attractive board sport, water variant of snowboard.
Around forty riders from ten countries competed in real summer atmosphere and ideal conditions. Competition was held in Junior and Open categories
Numerous spectators and fans gathered around the cable and cheered their favorites during the morning califications and afternoon finals. Six judges evaluated the execution, intensity and composition of riders' performance.
The peak of the day was absolutely the moment when the excited mass saw at the video-wall the final placements in Open Ladies category. It was a very emotional moment, mostly for the only Croatian female representative Silvia Troselj, who won by only 2,2 points in front of the best ranked in Europe, Marianne Sandner from Germany.
The actual European champion under 15, German Dominik Guhrs won a very hard competition in Juniors, and the best in Open Men was the triple World champion Bernhard Hinterberger, also from Germany.
The competition weekend ended with the attractive "Rope Session", contest for the best tricks over obstacles - kicker and slider. In this mini spectacle the best was Mike Ketellapper from Netherlands, and to the great joy of fans third was the local 14 years old Lovro Klepac from Punat.
